Why siddhis do not come to Yoga practitioners easily?

If you follow Maharshi Patanjali, Yoga is just like a practical science, like mathematics. Just as mathematics has its roots in imagination and philosophy but its practical application in the material realm solves so many puzzles in the same way Yoga is a method to control the source of imagination (the mind) and therefore it can be applied to create miracles in the material realm of tattvas. Questions about Pranayam and Yoga (Part-III)

How can we take breathing so non-seriously? Breath is life and to stay breathing means we are still alive. Yoga Masters say that people are ignorant about this very process of life. They opine that the breathing should be taught.. albeit no child ever took a lesson on how to take her first breath. It is a natural process.. and it gets triggered by just one stroke.. and continues till someday you are no more alive. Still Yoga masters like Patanjali, Gherand and Gorakshnaath have a valid point. Swadhyaya – Right introspection – Important process for spiritual progress

Swadhayaya is about self-awareness. And typically it begins with body awareness. When you start your practices the first thing people are able to notice only gross changes that are bodily e.g. their face is glowing, muscle tone has improved, blood-pressure is regulated and so on… Then they get aware of changes in their thoughts.
