Today is International Menstrual Hygiene Day, which came into existence in 2014 to bring awareness regarding menstrual hygiene. Yes, this is a very important issue and needs a great force to bring in this awareness. The world is coming together on various platforms to address this issue by organizing events, rallies and even concerts.
We are today thinking of bringing awareness on the hygiene part of menstruation but there are still questions about menstrual impurity and cultural bondage’s that comes with it. Women today are getting aware and want to know why is it that they are considered impure during the five days of periods. Many women have somehow just accepted this fact that there is something wrong with their bodies during this period and therefore keep on questioning on what they can do and what they cannot.
