Remedy for Anxiety Neurosis – Yoga, Pranayama or Tattva Shakti Vigyaan?

Dear AD,

I am suffering from anxiety neurosis and feel heaviness in head and chest very often.All the tests for heart and body are done and reports are normal. I feel afraid , anxious, negative and worry about small small things. head feels like a bag full of emotions. kindly guide me how to start pranayams and other things to prevent this condition. Also, where can i find good instructors in Delhi. please refer if you know someone.

You are an emperor so what if that is only for namesake (smiles).. Samrat, the emperor interestingly you have developed the symptoms of a king. Though you are not clad in armors and lead platoons of soldiers to fighting real battles and wars you are somewhere experience such wars happening within you. Your situation suggests as if you have faced a tense situation at job, relationship or some kind of trauma for quite sometime and the battle has seeped in your mind well below conscious domain. Somewhere your ‘nature’ has gotten disturbed due to over-exertion, suppression and association imaginations of failure, loss or defeat. Sometimes people are not aware about their surroundings and situations and take those as a normal routine or need of hour without having specialized competency to handle those run the risk of being adversely (and unfortunately permanently) affected by them. Try to analyze what has been true in your case.. what you struggled with without seeking support or help for so long.

Samrat, the physical and emotional symptoms your being is exhibiting are just indication of your inner pathology, health issues (or disturbance) of Koshas and imbalance in Tattvic makeup. Doctor’s will say you are suffering from some psychosomatic disorder and in all probabilities they will prescribe you some anti-depressants and mood elevators. And if they are truly concerned about your health and wise enough; after prescribing you the drugs they will urge you not to ‘google’ about them🙂 because you in all probability won’t take those drugs like an innocent, bedridden patient rather you in your own capacity will try to find out the side-effects of those drugs and then the never ending vicious cycle of drug-contraindication after few days (or even immediately) shall start occurring and doctors shall become helpless. Is that the case with you so far? If you have not reached this far you are quite well within the recovery zone.

See! You complain that you feel heaviness in the head and chest. Just thinks when does such symptoms are felt by a normal healthy person. You are intelligent enough to guess that such are the reflections of suffocation and sadness coupled with helplessness. How come these symptoms occur when you are not facing such a situation in the current moment outside? The answer is that these are stored situations which your mind starts manifesting whenever it needs to create a situation in your body which would attract feelings of kindness, support and care from self or others towards you.

You ask me – I should guide you to a Yoga instructor but as far as I understand.. As of now… you don’t need a practice, you are in the dire need of a therapy, a holistic system of  changing your inner nature. Something which asks you to help yourself in true sense and reorganizes the critical balance in your being. I would prefer to suggest you Tattva Shakti Vigyaan rather than yoga and pranayama and the simple reason for my inclination to TSV here is based on your deep rooted issues which Yoga wouldn’t be able to address. You may ask “Why?”

Here is the answer – Yoga starts with Yama and Niyama; basic rules of inner and outer disciplines. The scope of Yama Niyama is quite elaborate and has far reaching impact on how other advance steps would affect your journey and growth along the path. When you are relatively in a healthy state of mind and body you are able to take up new discipline for yourself and do justice with your vows and self-imposed guidance system otherwise you fail miserably (due to your scattered thought process and lack of resolve which is quite common with people suffering from Anxiety Neurosis) and fill yourself with further negative emotions like guilt, self-blame and loss of self-respect.  That wouldn’t be good for you, I understand.

Whereas in Tattva Shakti Vigyaan, in the first place you are not imposed with some un-doable rituals. Interestingly TSV also includes the preparatory steps of Yoga and pranayama are sufficient to trigger the healing process immediately. Secondly elements are the primary constituents of our makeup and thus impact our nature and behaviour very quickly and in more profound ways. Lastly with the initiation you have continuous access to the guidance, support and protection from Lodge of Masters ensuring you restore the normalcy with the practices (sadhana) while being closely watched by your Masters. In fact it has been the observation of many advanced learners and seekers that if they had imbalance, contamination or inappropriate potency of Tattvic Energies within their system it becomes difficult to achieve pragmatic progress along any spiritual discipline. I would like to clarify why everything (whether on physical, mental or emotional level) should be seen as being controlled by your spiritual health because it is the subtlest and most potent part of your true being. If you are spiritually oriented you are empowered in your everyday life – situations may still go through tides of change but a sadhaka’s own endeavors along with the grace of divine and loving guidance of Masters make the sailing through those possible.

However if you wish to experiment with Yoga and Pranayama you can still do so and my suggestion would be to start it with simple things. Start with Nadi-Shodhana and some easy Asanas (I recommend Surya Namaskar here). In case you need guidance in this regard you can visit Sacred Association’s Malviya Nagar Centre (Divine Planet) on the day of a TSV Initiation workshop or a planned meetup. The earliest Tattva Shakti Vigyaan Initiation (Level – I) is being conducted on Saturday, 18th of this month (October’2014)  here in Delhi. In any case this life should to be used to know ourselves and I trust once you are able to settle these fringe issues with your health you would engage seriously in this ultimate endeavor of knowing ‘Self’ for there is no other reason than this to be born as I see.
