Many of you may have experienced those peculiar feeling of your body being as heavy as a stone. At such times you feel your feet are too heavy to carry your weight and you become sluggish and drained out.. as if not capable of any action.. on those moments you just want to lie down, rest or sleep. At times you may also have gotten that feeling of sinking associated with kind of depression and frustration… And what did experienced people tell you to ward off that feeling? They may have asked you to breathe deeply, have a glass of water.. go out in the open, merge with nature.. breathe fresh air.. look at the untiringly flowing stream, the infinite sky… its wide horizons and appreciate the nature’s grandeur and beauty. You do so and gently you recover from your that lowly feeling. In fact the Nature is ever ready to cleanse and energize us. Elements (tattvas) have that magical healing power to lift our spirits only if we learn to connect them, befriend with them and learn the language and techniques revealed by ancient Masters to communicate with these universal building blocks – Tattvas.
All those of you who are initiated into Tattva Shakti Vigyaan and are engaged in sadhana of panch-mahabhootas will appreciate it better than others. TSV practitioners may have noticed that contemplation and connection with subtler Tattvas like Agni, Vayu and Aakaash makes them feel lighter as compared to the grosser ones like Prithvi and Jala. Many Advanced TSV practitioners who have reached the higher levels and obtained dhyana-Deeksha know that they occasionally feel as if they are floating. The lightness of body and a feeling of flying in the air always comes after a practitioner comes out of Dhyana or Meditation on higher Tattvas.
Occasional upward lift of physical body (sometimes which is a jerk – like a frog) is very common phenomenon observed in the Hatha Yoga/Kriya Yoga etc. It is also true that some Masters freely levitate in the air completely defying the downward pull earth and laws of gravity. Mastery over this makes aakaash-gaman (sky travelling) possible and many Yogis in the past have been heard of doing it. Lahiri Mahashaya was reported to touch the ceiling of his room floating in the air while he was engaged in deep meditation. During the times of Shri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa one such yogi visited the nearby villages of Kolkata and he was capable of walking on the surface of water. This instance was told to Swami ji. Upon which Ramakrishna told his disciples that such a siddhi was only worth two paisa because what this Yogi could do (crossing the river walking over water) anyone of them could do by paying the boatman 2 paisa and he will take one across the river on his boat. Many people suspect that such miracles are not possible and are only the tricks. The fact is that this phenomenon neither a miracle nor inexplicable and it is very much possible for anyone who is willing to dedicate him/herself completely in particular Siddhi-Sadhana and is totally free of doubt and fear. Let me explain you the deeper aspect of such an accomplishment or siddhi.
The downward pull which earth exerts upon our bodies is due to the gravitational force. Ancient Masters told us that there exists a force which is opposite to the Gravity.. It can be termed as Kripa or Grace. This force of Grace is capable of not only raising our consciousness higher but if its relative strength is intensified through our sadhana on higher tattvas then the gravity can be overcome. In that state we can leave this plane of gravity altogether. (There is a story in Mahabharata which says out of five pandava brothers the eldest one, the most pious, the one which highest of virtues, Yudhishthir could ascend to heavens with his physical body). Another example of Kabir is there whose dead-body could not be found.. he just eloped.
It should be noted that the gravitational force is majorly generated out of prithvi and jala tattvas. If we observe closely we can clearly see that out of five only two Mahabhootas fall completely in the controlling region of gravity.. they are Jala and Prithvi. If you try to suspend any liquid/water (Jala Tattva) or any other solid (prithvi tattva) in the field of gravity these will be pulled down by the gravitational force immediately. Water thus falls down and so does a stone. But gaseous matter or Vayu tattva doesn’t necessarily fall down.. rather is does NOT fall down at all (although it experiences a gravitational force) rather keeps itself suspended in the space. What about the other two? Agni and Aakaasha are totally beyond the reins of Gravity for that matter. These are the two Tattvas which are continuously being pulled up against the gravitational force. So if the energy potencies of Akasha, Agni and Vayu are increased in your body during sadhana your levitation tendencies increase.
Yet another fact which you should know is that at higher altitudes where gravity becomes feeble and weak the force of Grace is experienced more profoundly and that is the reason sadhana at higher altitudes gives quicker results. It is not just a coincidence that all the Yogis preferred Himalayas for sadhana. The Gravitational force whose tendency is not only to pull our physical bodies down but also our awareness and consciousness needs to be overcome to progress on our spiritual journey.
Enough for today – Tomorrow I shall discuss about some ancient methods which were used by our ancestor Masters and Sadhgurus to defy Gravity and enter the realm of grace. And also some other methods and techniques which any ordinary saadhaka can use to his/her benefit.
Blessings from the Masters..
