You know that Dhyan or Meditation is NOT what we teach you in level – I, TSV practices. We clearly explain that unless you have done your Nadi-Shodhana, Tattva-Shuddhi and learnt to train your mind to relax through Tattva Dharana Kriya.. trying to meditate will be a frustrating endeavour. We know that some of the knowledgeable seekers tend to reason that TSV is probably not offering them a meditation and thus delaying their spiritual growth however the truth exactly opposite. You don’t handover an ink or gel pen to your nursery kids – you expect them to practice and bring about some maturity in handling the writing tool before they take up these aids. During their learning phase they are advised to use chalk sticks, use formatted notebooks and pencils… Just to ENSURE when they don’t spoil their beauty of their writing style. Learning Meditation is not different either…
Since your mind or Manomaya Kosha is sandwiched just in the middle of Panchkosha anatomy it keeps getting subtle vibratory disturbances from outer Koshas and also severe hitting through shock-waves of desires, lust, unresolved emotions from inner ones. In such a disturbing inner environment keeping your mind ripple free (which is mandatory) for entering in meditation is next to impossible. Training is needed. The time spent in training increases the possibility of success in meditation and further sadhana.
There are three steps to Meditation..
- First is relaxation
- Second is concentration
- Third is Meditation itself
First two steps in typical Yogic language would be termed as Pratyahara and Dharana. Pratyahara means relaxation, getting disconnected yourself from your sense organs.. This is achieved by giving suggestions to your mind to relax and not pay much attention to what is being intercepted by sense organs. Just being able to relax brings hoards of benefits to you. Out of many researched being done in this regard you might be interested to read one recent research by Benson-Henry Institute. It shows that deep relaxation induces many positive changes in your biological functions and cellular activities.
Tattva Shakti Vigyaan practices take you much farther than just making you learn relaxation. Tattva Dharana Kriya is far more than just relaxation. It connects you to the ‘Grace of Masters’.. works on your elemental make-up, purifies you, produces relaxation and infuses positive seeds of “Elemental Energy” in you.
