Right now i have to make one of the most important decision of my life
that is my career,Now my heart says go for higher studies and my mind says
take a normal job there is so much more to life than physics and
mathematics.although i enjoy studyn but i dont want to miss on other
things also i am so confused ,I know its as if i want everything.
inability to make up my mind is causing immense anxiety as i have to start
preparing for either .Please help me sort this out.
Today your mind says go grab the job and enjoy the life’s other things and your heart says why not sacrifice for yet another year or two and study more… know more.. learn more.. feel satiated in the field of knowledge. And you are confused which one to follow.. right? This is not very unique situation you are in. In fact everyday.. one or the other situation demands the choice to be made by you. A sadhaka of TSV is supposed to trust his/her intuition rather than logic because intuition is the decision making process of that 97-99% of mind which today’s scientists/psychologists are still not aware of. It sounds absurd though to follow something which has no logical deduction yet the preferable choice is always the voice of heart.
The reason is simple. The mind needs logic.. and logically you can always answer its questions up to a great extent. If you want to justify logically any of your action the same mind will in fact always give you logic.. reasons for why you should be doing something and to your amusement for why you should NOT be doing the same thing both at the same time! So today if you dont follow its advice tomorrow you can find out reasons for not following the choice it presented.
Heart is deeper mind.. the invisible.. logic-less, intuitive mind.. it is deeper .. so deep that its bottom is thought to be even below your neckline (laugh) i.e. your heart. In fact heart does not think, it is your deeper mind. Even scientifically heart is an organ which is devoid of complex structure of neurons which can support thinking. Isn’t it? Now the first reason why you should follow heart (deeper mind) more often than logical conscious mind is “Heart gives you a choice, a decision based on many factors other than logic. Logic is driven by what you like or enjoy or feel profited in but intuition is based on what makes you grow and evolve.
The second reason you should be listening to heart is because no matter what logic you give if you don’t follow it, it always keeps reminding you of that incident or decision which you allowed despite its alarm. You can not pacify or console your heart but you can do so with your mind by showing what good you have achieved or what inconvenience you have avoided to yourself by not-following its voice.
The last but most important point – The deeper mind of TSVSadhaka is more connected to all-knowing “Vigyaanmaya Kosha” and thus you can be sure of one thing – the choice presented to you comes from collective wisdom you have which is definitely inclusive of logical deduction, albeit not in your conscious domain.
Finally – my logic – Studying a bit more will never hamper your capability to enjoy what life will present you in future but not studying or remaining/feeling incomplete in knowledge can become a roadblock in what enjoyment you can create in your life in future. It is both-ways rewarding because you are naturally inclined towards studies and keeping the momentum will be easier rather than to start a fresh when your heart starts behaving like a stubborn-demanding child after few years… and trust me, lest you listen to its voice today.
If i have succeeded in confusing you more and you feel more conflict now then you MUST follow your heart because when in confusion ALWAYS listen to your heart. (laughs)
