No matter what the literal meaning is.. you need to start with trust! Never believe – because believe has a lie in it (laughs)
However just for clarity faith is mostly conceptually thinking and feeling, without applying any logic to it whatsosver, that few things and phenomenons stand and exhibit in a particular fasion or way. It is about what would be coming rather than what is. It is personal love affair with a vaster, nobler thing or individualized ideal..
Trust is mostly between two individuals where you are convinced about the ways and innate character of the other person and thought to be an essential ingradient of interpersonal relationships and Belief is most dangerous of all and biggest hurdle in personal spiritual growth because belief, although being a mental phenomenon comes in the way of another important mental process ‘inquiry’ and without inquiry there can never be any growth.
Belief is like a lantern in the hands of a blind man, he can never use it to his advantage except putting on dark goggles and tray walking confidently and pretending not to blind. But the fact is even with or without he would not be able to see things around. To get rid of this lantern of Belief he now needs to develop trust in a doctor who is capable of operating upon his eyes to give him ability to see so that he can see again to deveop faith because faith is existential rather than just intellectual thing like belief.
Now it is your chance to not believe me and my words and inquire more to reach a faith. I have heard…. Mulla Nasrudin and his wife were visiting Israel for their holidays and entered a nightclub somewhere near Tel Aviv. A comedian was on the dias who did his whole act in Hebrew. Nasrudin’s wife sat through the comdian’s act in silence, but Nasrudin roared and giggled with laughter at the end of each joke.
“I did not know you understood Hebrew!” she exclaimed with suspicion to the Mulla when the comedian had concluded his act.
“I don’t,” replied Nasrudin.
“Well, how come you laughed so much at his jokes?”
“Oh,” said Nasrudin, “I trusted him.”
So you can trust and laugh on every joke but what kind of laugh that would be? Free yourself from the cobweb of words, language and their meanings.. fall in love with existence, become like a child instead.. thats liberating.
